The growth of e-mail spam

Spam is growing exponentially, with no signs of abating. The amount of spam users see in their mailboxes is just the tip of the iceberg, since spammers' lists often contain a large percentage of invalid addresses. This is to prevent abuse (like spamming) of the service.
